Logging Into LAD
To log into LAD's web-based user interface for the first time, connect a computer directly to LAD via Ethernet, open a web browser and go to my.lad or 192.168.0.1. The web-based user interface can be accessed from any Windows OS, MAC OS or UNIX OS with a web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.
- The default login name for the administrative interface is "admin".
- The default password for the administrative interface is "1234".
- Not all systems recognize domain suffixes other than the standard .com, .net, .org, .gov and others. If that is the case with yours, you will need to use the numerical URL to access LAD's user interface.
Alternatively, if a wireless card is available, the first time LAD boots up it will enable the 2.4Ghz band, which may be accessed using the default SSID "LAD" and password "pass1234". For security reasons it is a good idea to change this SSID and password after you login. Please note that the Wi-Fi password is different from the login name and password for the admin interface. If asked, choose wpa2 or wpa2personal for the encryption protocol.
The first time you log in you will be asked to review and agree to the license and terms and conditions and be prompted to choose a login name and password. Please make note of the login credentials you choose because they cannot be retrieved if forgotten. The login credentials, however, may be reset. See Reset Password in the Managing LAD section.
If when logging in you get a message that your LPN membership has lapsed, see LPN Membership.
- If you are unable to access LAD's login page, please refer to the Troubleshooting section.
Browser Settings
LAD's web-based user interface works with many different browsers and their various versions and should not require any settings changes in order to access, navigate and use the user interface.
Some newer browser settings, however, may affect LAD's operations utilizing DNS. For more information on these settings (often referred to as "SecureDNS"), go to the section on DNS and LateralDNS.
